Connect Community Races Around the World for Cancer Research UK
At Connect Multi Academy Trust, we believe that when we work together, we can achieve incredible things—and this term, our school communities have done exactly that.
Following the success of previous fundraising initiatives, all eight of our schools came together to take on our biggest challenge yet: to collectively travel 25,000 miles—the equivalent of racing around the world—in support of Cancer Research UK.
Students and staff embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, finding creative ways to contribute miles. Whether running during PE lessons, walking in their own time, cycling, using rowing machines, or taking part in a variety of other physical activities, every mile counted towards our shared goal.
The challenge quickly became much more than a fundraising event. It encouraged healthy lifestyles, teamwork and determination, with each school playing its part and motivating one another to keep moving. It was a fantastic demonstration of the Connect values, as our communities showed resilience, collaboration and ambition every step of the way.
We are delighted to announce that, on the final day of term, we not only reached our target of 25,000 miles but surpassed it. Together, our eight schools have successfully raced around the world, proving what can be achieved when a community comes together behind a common cause.
While our final fundraising total is still being calculated, we are incredibly proud of everyone who has contributed. Every mile completed and every pound raised will help support the life-changing work of Cancer Research UK, making a real difference to people and families affected by cancer.
A huge thank you goes to every student, member of staff, family and supporter who took part. This challenge has been a true celebration of teamwork, resilience and community spirit, and we look forward to revealing our final fundraising total very soon.
