‘Magic of the Musicals’ Showcase

The Gala Theatre in Durham came alive with colour, music, and excitement as students from across Connect Multi Academy Trust took to the stage for the spectacular Magic of the Musicals event. Performing to a sold‑out audience filled with proud parents, grandparents, and supporters, pupils from every school in the Trust delivered an unforgettable night of entertainment.

The programme featured show‑stopping numbers from Chicago, Wicked, The Lion King, and many other beloved productions. From powerful solos to polished ensemble pieces, students of all ages demonstrated remarkable talent, confidence, and teamwork. The atmosphere in the theatre was electric, with each performance earning enthusiastic applause and cheers from the crowd.

All proceeds from ticket sales were donated to the Trust’s chosen charity, Cancer Research UK, helping to support vital work that touches families across the community.

The Magic of the Musicals event not only showcased the incredible performing arts talent within Connect MAT but also highlighted the strength of unity, creativity, and compassion across the Trust. It was a truly fantastic night that will be remembered for years to come.
